A small number of locations open at 10:00 AM rather than 10:30 AM. So if you searched for Penn Station working hours today, bookmark this table, but double-check your store on holidays.
Is Penn Station Open on Sundays?
Yes, Penn Station is open on Sundays, but with shorter hours than the rest of the week. Most stores open at 11:00 AM instead of 10:30 AM and close at 8:00 PM. A handful of locations keep Sunday hours as late as 9:00 PM or 10:00 PM.
Sunday lunch is one of the busiest windows at Penn Station, right after church hours, so expect a line between noon and 2:00 PM. If you want to skip the rush, go closer to 11:00 AM or after 4:00 PM. That is genuinely the sweet spot for a quick in-and-out sub.
Penn Station Holiday Hours: What Days Is It Closed?
Here is the part people search for every December. Penn Station shuts its doors on the big three: Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Franchise job listings across multiple states confirm that locations close on all major holidays, which tells you this is a company-wide pattern rather than one store’s choice.
What about the days around the holidays? Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are the wildcards. Some locations close early, others run full hours, and it really does come down to the franchisee. New Year’s Day is generally a normal operating day at most stores. Your move here is simple: if you are craving a cheesesteak on Christmas Eve, call ahead or check Google Maps hours for your store before you drive over.
Do Penn Station Hours Vary by Location?
They do, and here is why. Every Penn Station is independently owned and operated. The company sets the standard 10:30 AM to 10:00 PM rhythm, but the franchisee has the final say. Locations in airports, malls, or high-traffic shopping centers sometimes open earlier or stay open later to match the foot traffic.
Drive-Thru vs Dine-In Hours
Most Penn Station locations are dine-in and carryout, with delivery through third-party apps. Some stores do have a drive-thru, and where it exists, the drive-thru generally runs the same hours as the dining room. There is no separate late-night drive-thru schedule the way some bigger chains run.
How to Check Hours for Your Local Penn Station
The most reliable way is the official store locator on the Penn Station website, which shows each store’s listed hours. Google Maps is also accurate day to day, and it flags holiday closures when stores report them. A quick call to the store works too, especially the day before a holiday.
