Get a Free Dave’s Hot Chicken Slider on October 13
Dave’s Hot Chicken is giving everyone a free slider on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. No purchase is necessary, you just need the Dave’s Hot Chicken app. Open the app on October 13, redeem the offer in-store at a participating restaurant, and walk out with a free slider. Yes, really free.
🎟️ How to Get Your Free Dave’s Hot Chicken Slider
Getting the free slider couldn’t be simpler. On October 13, open the Dave’s Hot Chicken app on your phone and look for the Dave’s Day offer. Show it in-store at a participating location and the slider is yours. That’s the whole process: app, redeem, eat.
A couple of things worth knowing so you don’t show up confused. First, the offer is in-store only, so mobile pickup and delivery won’t cut it. Second, it’s one slider per person, and locations are participating restaurants, which usually means the vast majority but not literally every franchise. Third, you don’t need to buy a single thing. No coupon code, no minimum spend, no strings.
Honestly, free food with no purchase is rare these days, and a lot of chains quietly require you to spend $5 or more to unlock their “free” items. Not here. Dave’s went out of its way to say no purchase is necessary, so take them at their word.
🎉 What Is Dave’s Day, Anyway?
Dave’s Day is the brand’s new name for its fourth annual October slider giveaway. This is the fourth year in a row Dave’s has handed out free sliders in October, but this time the celebration has a name of its own, rooted in the brand and the guests who made it what it is.
And there’s a reason they’re feeling generous. Dave’s Hot Chicken was recently named Yelp’s No. 1 Most Loved Brand, and CEO Jim Bitticks said the giveaway is a thank-you to the guests who took Dave’s from a parking lot in East Hollywood, Los Angeles, to a brand with more than 7 million followers across social media.
Here’s the fun part. The tagline is “On Dave’s Day, everyone’s a Dave.” The company says you can bring a friend named Dave, show up as Dave, or even bring a rubber chicken to lean into the bit. None of that is required for the free slider, it’s just the brand having fun with its own name. I looked into this and it’s genuinely one of the more charming promotions of the year.
🍔 What’s Actually Free: The Slider
The freebie is the slider that built Dave’s following: a Nashville-style hot chicken slider on a soft bun, with the chain’s signature spicy crunch. If you’ve never had Dave’s, here’s the thing: this is the same chicken that launched the brand from a tent in a parking lot back in 2017, and it’s exactly the kind of first taste that turns people into regulars.
Dave’s sliders normally run a few bucks, so getting one free is a solid deal for a snack or a side dish alongside whatever else you grab. The sliders come in heat levels ranging from No Spice all the way up to Reaper, so if free food has you feeling brave, October 13 is your moment.

What is Dave’s Day?

Do I need to be named Dave to get the free slider?
No, and this is my favorite detail. Dave’s says “on Dave’s Day, everyone’s a Dave,” so you can bring a friend named Dave or a rubber chicken if you want, but it’s not required. Anyone with the app gets a slider.
