Looking for BurgerFi locations near you in 2026? About 65 BurgerFi restaurants are open across the United States and Puerto Rico — this guide shows how to find the closest one, which states have one, and what’s new.
BurgerFi Locations Near Me 2026
The quick answer: BurgerFi locations number about 65 restaurants across the United States and Puerto Rico in 2026, down from the brand’s peak but still serving natural Angus burgers, custard shakes, and fresh-cut fries nationwide. Use the official locator on burgerfi.com, Google Maps, or the BurgerFi app to find your closest restaurant.
I looked into this because BurgerFi locations can be tricky to track. The chain went through a rough patch (bankruptcy headlines and all), so some folks wonder if their local spot is still standing. Good news: dozens of restaurants are open and serving, and new ones are still being announced. Check the full BurgerFi menu with prices before you go so you know what to order.
📍 How Do I Find BurgerFi Locations Near Me?
The official restaurant locator on burgerfi.com is the most accurate tool for finding BurgerFi locations near me searches, because it shows only currently open restaurants with exact addresses and hours. Google Maps is the fastest option when you are already in the car.
| Method | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Official burgerfi.com locator | Enter your city or ZIP on the BurgerFi locations page | Confirmed-open restaurants, official hours, exact addresses |
| Google Maps | Search “BurgerFi near me” or “BurgerFi locations” | Live directions, reviews, drive time on the road |
| BurgerFi app | Shows nearby BurgerFi locations with mobile ordering | Ordering ahead, checking wait times |
One honest tip: always double-check the location’s hours before a special trip. Most BurgerFi restaurants keep typical fast-casual hours, but holiday schedules and franchisee differences are common. If the official locator lists it, it is open, third-party directories sometimes keep closed stores listed for months.
🍔 How Many BurgerFi Locations Are There in 2026?
As of 2026, BurgerFi operates about 65 restaurants across the United States and Puerto Rico. That is smaller than the brand’s peak of roughly 120+ restaurants a few years ago, when expansion into Mexico, Panama, and the UK was also underway.
Here’s what happened: the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September 2024 and closed 19 underperforming locations as part of the restructuring. The chain that emerged is leaner but focused on its core US markets. Florida, where BurgerFi was founded in 2011 in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, still holds the most restaurants by far.
🇺🇸 Which States Have BurgerFi Locations?
BurgerFi locations by state concentrate heavily in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, with Florida far ahead of everyone else. The company confirmed restaurants in these states in 2026:
States with BurgerFi Restaurants
Florida (by far the most, dozens across South and Central Florida), Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Alaska, plus Puerto Rico.
If you live in the West Coast, the Mountain states, or New England, you are probably out of luck for now. The footprint is really an East Coast and Florida story, with a few Midwestern outposts.
❓ Is BurgerFi Still Open After Bankruptcy?
Yes, BurgerFi locations stayed open through the whole bankruptcy process. The company stressed at the time that customers would see no disruption: all stores kept normal hours, the rewards program kept running, and gift cards were honored.
🆕 Are There Any New BurgerFi Locations Opening in 2026?
Growth is slow but not dead. In October 2026 BurgerFi announced a second Michigan restaurant coming to Ypsilanti at 2997 Washtenaw Rd., opening later this fall. The company is leaning on franchise partners for new openings rather than corporate expansion, so expect future announcements to come from regional franchise groups.
Fun detail worth knowing: BurgerFi restaurants have an eco-conscious design, with chairs made from upcycled Coca-Cola bottles, tables from compressed recycled wood, and energy-saving ceiling fans. So the decor is part of the brand’s identity too.
