El Pollo Loco Deals & Coupons 2026
The best El Pollo Loco deals right now come through the free Loco Rewards app: earn 1 point per $1, unlock a $10 reward at 100 points, grab a free Original Pollo Bowl when you sign up, and snag rotating Friday Drops plus a $5 to $10 birthday reward. Here is how each one works.
Honestly, El Pollo Loco might be the most underrated fast-food chain in America when it comes to freebies. I have friends who eat there every week and had zero idea the app was handing out this much. So I dug through the actual offers, the fine print, and what regulars say online. Here is the full picture: what is real, what is worth your time, and which “coupons” are just noise. (Need the food prices first? Here is the full El Pollo Loco menu with prices.)
How do El Pollo Loco deals and coupons actually work?
Almost every deal runs through the free Loco Rewards app. That is the short answer. You earn points on every dollar you spend, and the app is also where Friday Drops, birthday rewards, and surprise coupons land. There are a few walk-in discounts too, and I will get to those. But if you are not on the app, you are leaving money on the table. Simple as that.

Is the Loco Rewards app worth downloading?
Yes, if you eat at El Pollo Loco even once a month. It is free, the sign-up freebie alone is worth real money, and points stack up fast. You earn 1 point for every $1 you spend, whether you order in the app, on the website, or in the restaurant. Hit 100 points and you unlock a $10 reward. That is a flat 10% back, which beats most fast-food programs.
Members also get the good stuff beyond points: personalized offers, order-ahead, pay from your phone, saved favorites, and first access to new menu items. The app was refreshed in early 2026 and it is one of the smoother ones I have used, no crashes mid-order, which is more than I can say for some chains. Here is the thing though, the real el pollo loco app coupons do not always announce themselves. Check the offers tab before every order. Some deals only appear there and never get emailed.
How do I get the free Original Pollo Bowl?
Join Loco Rewards for free through the app or the website, and the free Original Pollo Bowl shows up in your account. It is redeemable for a limited window after sign-up, so do not sit on it. Enrollment takes about two minutes with an email address or phone number, and that is it, no card required.
New members have also been offered free Chips & Guac with their first purchase, a one-time bonus. Honestly, this combo is one of the best fast-food sign-up offers out there. Most chains hand you 10% off your first order and call it a day. El Pollo Loco gives you a full meal. I looked into this because it sounded too good, and yes, it is legit. Same-day sign-ups even qualify for the current Friday Drop if there is one running.
What birthday freebies does El Pollo Loco give?
Loco Rewards members get an el pollo loco birthday reward of $5 to $10, depending on how many points they have accrued. It lands in your account around your birthday, and members report the $5 version most often, with heavier spenders seeing $10.
The trick is obvious: sign up well before your birthday, obviously, and put a few orders in during the months leading up to it to push your points up. A $10 reward on food you were going to buy anyway is a pretty nice birthday gift from a chicken chain. Just remember you need to be a member before the big day. Signing up on your birthday morning will not cut it.
What are El Pollo Loco Friday Drops?
Friday Drops are rotating weekly deals for Loco Rewards members. Think buy-one-get-one-free tostadas, or a free 2-piece leg and thigh meal with a drink purchase. They usually run one day only, and same-day Rewards sign-ups are eligible, which is generous.
Recent examples were strong. On September 25, 2026, members got BOGO tostadas. On September 9, National Grilled Chicken Day, they gave away a free 2pc Leg & Thigh Meal with the purchase of an a la carte drink. You redeem online, in the app, or in store by scanning your QR code. Heads up: these offers are not valid on third-party delivery platforms, so order direct. My advice? Check the app Thursday night. The best el pollo loco deals sometimes pop up early, and one-day offers do not wait around.
They do seasonal streaks too. For National Burrito Day, they ran four straight days of deals: a $0 delivery fee day, a $50 eGift card with a $10 bonus card, exclusive Instagram redemption codes, and a member BOGO burrito. Follow their socials if you do not want to miss those.
Are there El Pollo Loco coupons I can use without the app?
A few, yes. The receipt survey is the big one: fill out the short survey online and the code on your receipt gets you $3 off. It takes about two minutes. Keep your receipts instead of tossing them.
Then there are the standing walk-in discounts. Guests 60 and older get 10% off (max value $1). Military members and first responders, police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and federal law enforcement, get 15% off (max value $1.50). For both, ask your cashier before you pay and show your badge if you are not in uniform. Small print, but hey, a buck is a buck.
Feeding a crowd? Catering orders of $100 or more get $20 off with a promo code at checkout. And a word of caution on third-party coupon sites: they list plenty of el pollo loco promo codes, but most are one-time, expired, or just made up. I would not waste an afternoon testing them. The app is where the real el pollo loco coupons live.
What is the cheapest way to feed a family?
Family meals, hands down. The 8-piece family meal runs around $24 to $25 and includes 8 pieces of fire-grilled legs and thighs, any 2 large sides, 6 quesadilla slices, and tortillas or chips. The 16-piece version is about $39. Either way, it beats buying individual combos for everyone. The Chicken Meal for Two at $13.49 is another solid value pick for couples.
And here is the part people miss: family meals earn Loco Rewards points too. You are stacking 1 point per $1 on an order that is already the best per-person value on the menu. That is how you rack up to the $10 reward fast.
